RECYCLED GLASS BEAD NECKLACE – GHANA

These beautiful African recycled glass beads are hand-made by the Krobo tribe in Southern Ghana. The Krobo tribe is among the oldest and most famous makers of beads in the world. Most are fairly rough textured because the sand or silica from which they are made is not heated enough (in the fairly primitive furnaces in which they are made) to vitrify, retaining their grainy texture.
